Americas Pastime in Canada

In my quest to visit every baseball stadium, I found myself in a very strange position...watching America's past time in the heart of our friendly hockey/maple-loving neighbor, Canada.

My first impression?  They needed to import a better baseball stadium architect as the Toronto Blue Jays stadium is BORING!  It's huge, has no personality and the fans?  Well, those that were there (and there weren't that many of them, let me tell you), I'm not really sure they knew what the were rooting for.  They seemed more concerned with drinking and being as obnoxious as possible.  We actually had to change sections of the stadium (again, not hard to do as there was no one there) in order to escape some annoying fans who were complaining about how lame baseball was compared to hockey.  Come on Canada! We don't complain about your national pastime! Well...ok we do, but whatever get over it!

The one thing that I was pleasantly surprised about?  The food! I mean it had the standard American baseball food, but it added a Canadian twist.  The hot dog wasn't just a hot dog.  It also had some maple flavored baked beans on top of it! So make sure to venture outside of your  comfort zone and go for some of the more random food.  Trust me you won't regret it.  And when you are in Canada, whats more random than poutine?

Fries with gravy and cheese curds.  I know, I know.  Sounds gross. But believe me, its heaven on a plate!  Thank God I have to go across the border to get this puppy as otherwise I'd be having this puppy every day and the calories would not be good to my figure.

All in all, I enjoyed my time in Toronto but in terms of prettiness of the Stadium?   Canada, you still have a ways to go...
