Rugby Fun

This is a HUGE sporting weekend! No, I'm not talking about the Super Bowl...well not only about the Super Bowl.  I'm also talking about the start of the Six Nations Rugby Cup!  And yesterday, it got off to a roaring start.

We decided that we had to find somewhere to watch the France vs. England game.  So we ended up heading to our trusty bar the Australian. Sadly, I don't think we are going to be doing this throughout the tourney like we were planning on, as the people who run the 6nations Cable require that all bars who show the games charge a $20 cover.  We walked into the bar to be met by someone clearly not associated with the Australian demanding we pay up.  Paying $20 plus whatever bar tab your run up is just a bit too steep to pay on a regular basis, but it was worth it on opening day.

France vs. England ended up being a classic.  France went out to an early lead, but the England came storming back, only to have France score a try in the last minutes to put them ahead for good.  The game, combined with a large/vocal crowd, made for a great day out.  I mean, anytime you have old-school country rivals going at it, it's going to be an interesting time.  But when you combine the already festive atmosphere with an actual quality game, it becomes even more fun.

I've already circled England vs. Ireland and Ireland vs. France as the two other games I'm willing to part with a $20 cover to get the rowdy crowd.  Let's go Ireland!!!
